Yi-Radio is a cross-cultural media and public communication platform based in the Greater Washington, D.C. area. It explores culture, education, youth development, and community life through thoughtful dialogue, interviews, and creative programs.
Founded in 2015, Yi-Radio has evolved from a Chinese-language new media broadcast into a multi-format platform that includes audio programs, video interviews, youth initiatives, and live community engagement. Today, Yi-Radio focuses on creating structured spaces for clear expression, respectful conversation, and meaningful exchange across cultures and generations.
Yi-Radio places a special emphasis on youth public expression. Through programs such as YouthTalks, young participants are guided to ask meaningful questions, articulate ideas clearly, and engage in thoughtful conversations on issues that matter in today’s world.
Yi-Radio is founded and hosted by Yi Xue（薛祎）, a veteran media professional and cross-cultural communication educator. With over a decade of experience as a television host and editor in China, and advanced training in publishing, design, and education in the United States, Yi brings professional media practice together with public education and community engagement.
At its core, Yi-Radio believes that clear communication builds trust, and trust builds stronger communities.
