Washington DC The 24th Washington Chinese Culture Festival has concluded successfully. The YouthTalks Young Reporter Program, organized by Yi‑Radio with support from the American Chinese School, received praise and enthusiastic attention from Chinese and international visitors as well as festival guests.

Throughout the festival, the YouthTalks young reporters, wearing their team shirts and press badges, visited booths and activity areas across the event. They interviewed booth owners, international visitors, cultural performers, and invited guests, documenting the festival’s stories from a fresh and authentic youth perspective.

The young reporters asked thoughtful questions, listened carefully, and engaged naturally and creatively with people from different backgrounds. Through their interviews, they explored the stories behind cultural exhibits, specialty foods, traditional clothing, artistic demonstrations, and live performances. Their reporting offered an engaging and detailed look at the festival’s highlights and vibrant multicultural atmosphere.

The program gave the students an opportunity to connect with the community, deepen their understanding of Chinese culture, and participate in meaningful cross-cultural exchange. It also allowed them to strengthen their interviewing, observation, communication, public-speaking, and teamwork skills. Through their own questions, videos, and writing, the young reporters shared what Chinese culture and cultural exchange mean to their generation.

The YouthTalks Young Reporter Team extends its sincere appreciation to Chair Xu Jiang of the Washington Chinese Culture Festival Organizing Committee, Director Li Ning of the Youth Committee, and Ms. Qu Shuang for their generous support of the program.

Yi‑Radio will soon begin publishing the young reporters’ video reports and articles. Please stay tuned and join us in discovering Chinese culture and cross-cultural exchange through the eyes and voices of a new generation!
